"CCI Controls Pass SAS-70 Audit"

Novato, CA - CCI, a Marin-based managed services company today announced that their internal controls passed a Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS-70) audit.

"CCI was not required to undergo an SAS-70 audit but we felt that it was the right thing to do," said Debra Delaney, CCI's President and CEO. "The audit covers critical items such as security, data storage, programming, administration and financial practices. The Audit Report should enable our clients to validate the decision to partner with us, and it often means that their companies will not need to audit us as part of their own compliance efforts."

SAS-70 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). A SAS-70 audit or service auditor's examination is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control activities, which generally include controls over information technology and related processes. In today's global economy, service organizations or service providers must demonstrate that they have adequate controls and safeguards when they host or process data belonging to their clients. In addition, the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act make SAS-70 audit reports even more important to the process of reporting on effective internal controls at service organizations.

An outside auditing firm (Moss-Adams LLC Accounting & Consulting), hired by CCI for this purpose, conducted a comprehensive SAS-70 audit. The audit included an assessment of CCI systems, processes and managed services to ensure compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The result was a SAS-70 Audit Report, which indicates that CCI's controls passed the audit without issue.
